Nothing about your mail leaves your Mac.

What DuperMail sends

DuperMail makes two kinds of network requests, and nothing else.

  • An update check, once a day. DuperMail fetches a public list of versions from dupermail.com. Apart from DuperMail's version number, it sends nothing about you or your Mac.
  • A license check, with Polar. When you activate a License, and quietly about once a day after that, DuperMail sends Polar your License Key and your Mac's name. Polar uses them to count your Macs and confirm the License is valid.

What DuperMail never does

  • It never sends the contents of your email: no messages, senders, subjects, or mailbox names.
  • It doesn't record what you type. Keys that aren't Commands pass through to Mail and are not stored.
  • It has no analytics, no telemetry, and no crash-reporting service.
  • This website has no analytics and no trackers either.

What stays on your Mac

DuperMail keeps a Command Log at ~/Library/Logs/DuperMail/commands.jsonl so problems can be diagnosed. It holds only Command names, the part of Mail they ran in, and a short fixed reason when one failed, plus one line per launch with the versions of DuperMail, macOS and Mail, your Keymap and your keyboard layout. It never holds message content or keys that went to Mail. It is trimmed to the last 5,000 lines or 30 days, and you can turn it off in Settings.

Your trial record and Settings are stored on your Mac too.

Diagnostics Reports

If something goes wrong, Create Diagnostics Report… shows you the full text of the report. You can read it, add a note, and then save it or email it to support from your own Mail. DuperMail never sends a report by itself. You see exactly what is in it before it leaves.

Payments

Polar is the merchant of record. It takes your payment and handles your billing details, and its privacy policy applies to what you give it. DuperMail never sees your card.
